When do we play?

The Bowling Season

We play men’s or mixed friendly games on Saturdays, and ladies friendly games on Wednesdays or Thursdays.  All are afternoon matches.

In addition to this, we play in two leagues; the Wednesday league for the men and the Friday night league for the ladies.

On Thursday afternoons we hold an informal Club Afternoon where we arrange games between ourselves.

The bowling season opens in mid-April and continues until mid-September.

Club Competitions are held with the winners receiving trophies at our Presentation Night in December.  New members are encouraged to enter .. we all started somewhere!

We play skittles in the clubhouse once a month during the off-season on a Saturday afternoon.

What do I need to know?

AVAILABILITY

When is the green available?

GREEN AVAILABILITY

The green is open from 1pm each day and 11am on Sundays. Members can come 'on spec' or book themselves into the rink book which is in the clubhouse.

MATCHES

How do I join a match?

MATCHES

To indicate availability for a match, add your name to an availability sheet which you will find on the notice boards in the corridor by the changing rooms. There you will also find the final selection sheets for each match. Should you be a reserve for a match, you will be guaranteed to play next time you are available. Games are played either home or away to another club. Games are subject to a match fee. If you are selected and then find that you will not be available to play, PLEASE NOTIFY YOUR CAPTAIN ASAP. The bar is open for all Saturday games. Refreshments are served after all games in the clubhouse and there is usually a raffle.

What is the dress code at Jaguar Bowls Club?

'Whites' are club shirt with white trousers. 'Greys' are club shirt with grey trousers. (Please note that means trousers and not jeans)! Whites are worn for all friendly games and greys for league games and club competitions (whites on finals day). Any casual clothes for club afternoons or 'roll-ups'.

Mats, jacks and score boards are to be found in the men's changing rooms. Pushers are hanging up on a shed outside.

Annual fees are payable at the Pre-Season Meeting which takes place in March. We do not charge members in the first season who are new to bowling.

Tea, coffee or squash is available to all members, free of charge.

Who do I speak with if I have any problems?

PROBLEMS

Please contact a member of the committee should you have any problems of any kind. For any serious problems, please write to the chairman of the club who will bring your concerns to the next committee meeting. Committee meetings are normally held on the first Monday of the month.
